The medical imaging department is a medical technology functional department that integrates examination, diagnosis, and treatment. Many diseases in various clinical departments need to be inspected by large-scale medical equipment in the radiology department to achieve clear diagnosis, auxiliary diagnosis, and treatment. The general X-ray imaging equipment in the medical imaging department includes conventional film cameras, digital photography systems, various X-ray imaging systems, computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), medical linear accelerators, etc. The architectural design of the computer room in the medical imaging department is very complex. It must consider not only the radiation protection of radiation but also the mutual interference shielding of internal and external magnetic fields. The requirements for the building environment are very strict, such as the load of the building structure, etc.
1. Design focus of medical imaging department
According to the construction scale and functional areas of the hospital, the radiology department should be designed in a relatively central location of the hospital, and a patient flow line that combines plane transportation and vertical transportation should be designed to facilitate easy access for outpatients and inpatients. If the emergency department does not have separate imaging equipment and needs to share it with the imaging department, the imaging department should be close to the emergency department and set up an independent channel. Generally, it should be set up on the first floor or the underground floor. It is not recommended that the radiology department of projects in areas near water or with a lot of rain be set up on the lowest floor to avoid serious irreversible damage to the equipment due to special circumstances such as floods and water pipe ruptures.
2. Division of main functional areas
Reception area: appointment registration room, waiting hall, secondary waiting area, changing room, etc.
Inspection and treatment area: various equipment rooms, control rooms, and ancillary equipment rooms.
Auxiliary area: treatment preparation room, secondary equipment warehouse, injection room, sewage room and other rooms.
Work area: reading room, demonstration classroom, office, locker room, duty room, supporting rooms.
Living area: reception room, conference room, lounge, bathroom, general affairs warehouse, maintenance warehouse, storage room, etc.
Details that need attention
1. Size of radiology department room
The single-bed dedicated machine room for X-ray imaging is >24 square meters; the gastrointestinal imaging machine room is >30 square meters, and the CT and MR machine rooms are >36 square meters. It’s not appropriate to talk too much about this, as the design department will consider it.
2. Fire smoke detectors and sprinkler heads
According to fire safety requirements, fire smoke detectors and sprinklers must be installed in every newly built room. However, it is not suitable to install them in the machine room and control room, especially automatic sprinklers, to avoid damaging the machine in the event of malfunction or accidental triggering. However, dry powder fire extinguishers can be configured.
3. The door of the computer room should not be opened in the center of the room, but should be skewed to the side where patients and technicians move, about 50cm from the midline; otherwise, the chest X-ray rack will block the door, and the hospital bed or stretcher will go straight into the clinic bed when entering or exiting. The door should be a movable lead protective door, electric or automatic depending on the situation; the size of the door frame should be at least 150cm to facilitate the entry and exit of equipment and hospital beds into the computer room. The small door for technicians to enter and exit should be opened on the right-hand side of the observation window, preferably with an outward opening (opening to the computer room). The door opening is about 80cm in size.
4. If the camera is a suspended tube and a sky rail needs to be set up, it is advisable to set up the sky rail channel steel before decorating the ceiling in the room to avoid inconsistency between the ceiling height and the sky rail height.
5. The thickness and size of the leaded glass of the observation window should be configured as required. The height of the upper eaves and lower edges should be such that an individual of about 170cm can fully observe the patient's condition on the consulting room bed without tiptoeing or bending while standing or sitting.
6. If it is a two-way control room, it is recommended to open a window near the waiting corridor or lobby side to facilitate technicians to receive patients, doctors to inquire about medical history, and simple inspections, and at the same time, it can also allow patients to see the working status of doctors and technicians. Don't be anxious about waiting.
7. For the ground trough for laying cables in the computer room and control room, it is recommended to embed a 100-150mm PVC material pipe before pouring concrete or laying the floor, behind the console and at the other end of the computer room (equivalent to placing the control box Position) Each has a slot (size 30cmx30cm) for easy threading. If necessary, the pipe can be extended and laid to the position of the chest radiograph rack. If it is a connected computer room and control room, it is best to connect them through the wall. In the future, you will no longer see the uneven grooves on the floor that are frequently moved around.
8. The protective doors and walls will be constructed and manufactured in accordance with the protection requirements. However, if there are distribution boxes and switch socket boxes in the walls near the computer room, part of the brick wall physical structure must be dug out. Be careful not to forget to add these The back of the box is lined with a 1mm thick lead plate to make up for the lack of protective effect.
9. When designing and planning, try to keep the registration room and the duty room as close as possible. It is important to see the doctor on duty as soon as possible after emergency patients call at night.
10. The radiology department must have its own separate bathroom and it must be close to the duty room.
11. If the reporting hall is adjacent to the corridor, it is recommended to open the partition wall and make it open. It feels good.
12. Both CT and MR machine rooms should be equipped with nurse preparation rooms, which are important for handling, observing and enhancing patients, and keeping emergency medicines and equipment.
13. A cooling machine room should be reserved next to the MR machine room.
14. It is best for the radiology department to have a separate power room.
15. Regarding information equipment, it is necessary to reserve data line interfaces, and each computer room, control room, and office must have sufficient reserves.
16. The emergency call doorbell from the registration door to the duty room should be two-way, that is, when the patient calls, the doctor can respond (you know this, unless you are not on duty and have not experienced it). This should be planned during the decoration. Leave a two-way line.
17. If you want to consider dehumidification in each computer room control room, don’t forget to reserve drainage pipes.
18. The disadvantages of designing central air conditioning in CT and MR computer rooms are becoming more and more obvious. Experience tells us that vertical air conditioners should be installed in these computer rooms when planning, and the location of drainage, electricity, cold air ducts and outdoor units should be considered.
19. MR equipment should be kept at least 14 meters away from the elevator to avoid interference.
20. CT and MR equipment need to be grounded separately and cannot be mixed with the ground wires of other equipment.
Through reasonable consideration and implementation of the above key points, the construction of the hospital's radiology department will be more scientific, safe and efficient, providing strong support for medical services.
